Now this is a really interesting picture. My grandfather's ancestors were from Prussia, and when they came to Canada, they moved to basically the middle of nowhere. Willhelm Friedrich Schwartz was pretty industrious and decided to make maple syrup and ship it world wide. He tapped thousands of trees. This is a picture of his wife (Charlotte) and two other women washing syrup cans after the sugaring off. I don't think it was nearly as glamorous as it is now.
