I finished this book in the wee hours of the morning - I was really eager to see how everything would turn out. The main characters, Madeline and Flynn, do a kind of dance in the chapters, circling their love for each other, but never really acting on it. Madeline is a trauma therapist trying to heal Flynn of the terrible things he has seen as a war photographer. This novel is mostly dialogue between the two, which is something I don't often enjoy, but this novel was so good. Still not the best I've read this year - I'm still giving that to Shreve's Resistance - but on the cover of this novel is the quote: "Fans of Anita Shreve will love it," which is why I picked it up.
