The Song of Hannah by Eva Etzioni-Halevy

Written in the tradition of Diamant's 'The Red Tent,' this novel follows a woman of the Bible only known for who her son becomes - the prophet Samuel.  It also features a bit of a love triangle since Hannah is the second wife of her husband, second to someone who was once her best friend.  I actually had to set this book down.  Not that it wasn't interesting, but it was lacking in story-telling, which made it hard to follow.
