Once in a Lifetime by Cathy Kelly

This is probably the third Cathy Kelly novel I've read.  She's an Irish writer of Chick Lit, but she does it with such verve that you don't realize you're reading fluff.  Her characters are so real and easy to relate to; it's no wonder that she has such a great following.  She's like the Nora Roberts of the UK, without the badly written love scenes, and men without brains.
