The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy

This story is set in Vancouver's Chinatown, and is narrated by three young siblings, who are born in Canada, but are Chinese-Canadian.  They are experiencing life as first generation Canadian - caught between budding ideals of a new country, and the traditions of the old.  I didn't think I'd enjoy this book, but I actually really did.  The narration was great, the stories read like little short-stories and were interesting.
