The Watch That Ends the Night by Hugh MacLennan

I snagged the first edition of this book at a flea market.  I enjoyed Barometer Rising in university, and I actually do enjoy MacLennan's often acerbic tongue.  This story didn't let me down either.  I'm also almost at my goal for  reading 20 Canlit books this year.  Three more to go.  This book also marks the sixtieth book I've read this year (I'm not reviewing them all here) and I'm proud of my progress.  I would like to be at seventy by the end of the month, but that's not going to happen.  I'm just glad that I'm managing to read a great deal of interesting fiction - and non-fiction - this year.
