Coming through the door after a great day at work yesterday, I noticed the front stoop was covered with little red, moving dots: Lady Bugs! I just love them.
When I was a little girl, there was a tree on our farm that always had major colonies of lady bugs at the base. They would crawl under old leaves, twigs, into little nooks and crannies created by the tree bark and exposed roots. I would often go and just sit under that tree and just watch them move. Sometimes, I'd catch a bunch in a jar, but I'd put them back after a few days.
When I found the lady bugs crawling up the door frame yesterday, I was taken back to that awesome memory. I could almost smell the warmer summer air.
