Sunday Meditations: Upon Opening Strange Doors

We really don't know what we have in our own back yards until we go exploring it - whether legally or not.  My brother and I went on a mini road trip this afternoon to explore buildings we've long wanted to.  We didn't know what to expect, but we certainly didn't expect this.

Sometimes you don't know what's inside until you open the door.  We decided that this building was well worth the exploration, but what of those times when you open the door on something that you shouldn't have?  We also explored an abandoned house, a home left to crumble back into the landscape.  We couldn't get inside, but this really pretty yellow front door swung open and shut in the wind.  It was as if it was inviting something in, but then changing its mind, and then flip-flopping - a bi-polar house.  Those are doors that you definitely don't want to open.  Luckily for us, we knew what lay behind the door since the interior of the house was exposed on its North side.  Life doesn't always hand us that foreknowledge.  I suppose the lesson here is enter with care.
