If you enjoy soft colours and translucent light, then this week's artist is for you. Pennsylvanian artist, Kristina Closs, can take something as simple as a cabbage, and turn it into a Georgia O'Keefe inspired painting, filled with colour and texture.
Closs isn't limited to still life. Her pastoral scenes are quite breath-taking. She is mostly a self-taught artist, and has exhibited throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Closs' work is for purchase through her etsy shop, Wood Pigeon, but I also suggest her blog site: Painting in Trees, for a more detailed look into her process. She also has some lovely tutorials which I plan on using in the future.
